Careers

Paralllux, Inc. is an innovative, fast-growing optical networking startup. We design and manufacture semiconductor lasers and photodetectors used in our advanced optoelectronic transceivers for data centers.  We hire energetic, bright, ambitious, high-achieving, and highly skilled people who want to make a difference. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes stock options, medical insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid vacation, and personal time off.

FABFab Processing Engineer in Trainning

If you are a fresh graduate with a BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field you can be employed at Paralllux and be trained to become a compound semiconductor process engineer. You will learn to fabricate semiconductor lasers, photodetectors, and other optoelectronic devices. Your initial title will be an engineering intern that may be full time or part time. You will gain processing experience by following the procedures described in processing run sheets. Your position is expected to switch to a process engineer after one year of successful training. As a process engineer you will design and develop processing strategies and sequences for the fabrication of optoelectronic devices and circuits.

Task Description

  • Perform multiple processing and verification steps routinely on III-V compound semiconductors. Handle and process wafers individually and manually.
  • Processing steps include: lithoghrapy, metallization, wet and dry etching, wafer thinning and dicing, visual inspection, and SEM.
  • Follow processing runsheets and procedures.
  • Perform all steps of optoelectronic device fabrication on a wafer from start to finish. Inspect and test at each step to judge processing quality.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
  • A steady hand, patience, and attention to detail.
  • Any prior experience in compound semiconductor processing is a plus.
  • Please do not apply if your background and experience are in commercial silicon processing.
